Run your business
with care.

UK test release · updated 15 October 2026. Practical guidance, not a compliance certificate or legal advice. Your circumstances and the type of customer matter.

Test-use rules

Use sample customer records during testing. Do not upload information you have no right to use, impersonate another business, create misleading quotes, send spam or attempt to access another account. Do not store payment card details, passwords, door codes or sensitive personal information in notes. No payments or automatic customer marketing are enabled.

Before a customer agrees

Provide your legal or trading identity, appropriate contact and business address details, a clear scope and exclusions, the total price including applicable taxes and unavoidable charges, payment timing and cancellation terms. Do not describe an estimate as a fixed price unless that is what you offer. Check your VAT registration before adding VAT. TidyQuote does not establish your tax status.

Consumer cancellation rights

Distance and off-premises consumer service contracts can carry a 14-day cancellation period from entering the contract. Starting within that period can require an express request and specific information; do not assume that booking a date removes the customer's rights. Review the rules for your particular contract before work starts. Business customers can have different rights.

Client data and messages

Identify an appropriate lawful basis, give clients a privacy notice and collect only the information needed. Set a retention schedule and review old records. Export and delete records from your workspace when appropriate; downloaded backups remain your responsibility. A quote enquiry does not automatically permit unrelated promotional emails. Electronic marketing to individuals, including sole traders, normally needs consent unless a relevant exception applies. Respect objections and opt-outs.

Service quality and safety

Our checklists help organise work. Adapt them to the agreed service, product labels, surface compatibility and site risks. They do not replace training, risk assessments, insurance or any duties you have towards workers and customers. Never mix chemicals based on a checklist.

What TidyQuote still needs before commercial launch

The operator's legal identity and contact address, a complete privacy notice and retention policy, a working account-deletion and data-rights process, relevant controller/processor arrangements, an ICO fee assessment and a review of consumer terms must be finalised. Review international data transfers and any future payment, analytics or advertising providers. Do not treat this preview as approved for unrestricted customer use.
